SALAH (صلاة) is the practice of formal prayer in Islam. ZAKĀT (زكاة) is the giving of a fixed portion of one's wealth to charity, HAJJ (حج) is the pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is the largest pilgrimage in the world, and is the fifth pillar of Islam. A religious duty that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so. SAWM (صوم) is an Arabic word for fasting. Meaning to abstain from eating, drinking, having sex and anything against Islamic law from dawn till dusk.
